After pursuing a degree in East-Asian Studies, working at non-profits and in the NYC fashion industry, life took Pia to Boston. She decided to explore her interest in architecture and landed her first job in the industry as a Marketing Coordinator. She soon realized that she didn’t want to become an architect but loved A/E/C marketing!
Shortly after starting in this role, her boss suggested she look into SMPS. Pia began attending events regularly and soon joined a committee. She learned a lot about her role as a marketer and became comfortable asking her SMPS peers for advice and assistance. Her bosses were so pleased with her SMPS participation and could see how it positively impacted the business.
Pia enjoys exploring opportunities outside of work and challenging herself to do new things. This led her to join Toastmasters, an international organization that develops public speaking and leadership skills through practice and feedback. Through her participation at Toastmasters, she became more comfortable with presenting and public speaking. This experience helped her gain the confidence to take on a leadership role in SMPS, and she was the Director of the Education Committee for the 2014-2016 program years and served as President during the 2017-2018 program year.
Pia is currently the Marketing Director at CRJA-IBI Group, a landscape architectural design, and environmental planning firm. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, the rabbit hole of social media, and spending time with her family, which includes a bouncy dog and a busy toddler.
