Aspiring to Become an SMPS Fellow? Learn more at a special webinar this Friday 2/28!

Becoming an SMPS Fellow is an elite honor that will make you stand out in the AEC industry and among your peers. But there is a path one must take as well as certain qualifications you need to ascend to this designation including:

  • Having 15 years of experience as a marketer and/or business developer in the A/E/C industry
  • Being a member of SMPS for at least 10 of the previous 15 consecutive years (since January 1, 2005) and currently a member in good standing
  • Having a current CPSM designation for a minimum of five years
  • Completing a detailed application that documents the candidate’s work history, education, professional accomplishments, association participation, and perception of the meaning of the SMPS Fellow designation

As noted above, becoming a CPSM is one of the hurdles one must jump to start their journey to Fellow. If you are a CPSM and meet the criteria either this year or in the next couple of years, now is the time to gear up and get ready!

To learn more, SMPS National will be holding a webinar on “Why you should apply to become an SMPS Fellow” on February 28th at noon EST.

Be sure to review the SMPS Fellows Recognition Program Guidelines and Fellows application if you are considering applying for Fellow in 2020. To be considered, your application must be received by SMPS headquarters by 5 p.m. EST on April 1, 2020. Successful candidates will be notified in June and recognized during the Evening of Excellence at Build Business in Austin, TX, on August 13. For more information visit the Fellows Recognition page or read our past blog article.

If you wish to connect with an SMPS Fellow in the Boston chapter before submitting your application, you can reach out to Karyn Tirabassi and she will connect you with a Fellow. Please reach out to Karyn as well for any questions regarding CPSM certification.

Also, don’t forget SMPS Boston offers scholarships that cover the Fellows and CPSM application fees!
