Back to School with SMPS: Elevate Your Career with CPSM

It’s back-to-school time, which means it’s a new program year at SMPS Boston. Our 2017-18 theme is Elevate, and I’d like to challenge you to elevate your career by becoming a CPSM! For those of you who don’t know, CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketer) is the professional certification of SMPS, “a mark of distinction for professional services marketers and business developers, raising their standing with their employers, peers, and the public.”

SMPS Boston currently has 31 CPSMs; 16 of whom have attained their certification since the launch of our CPSM Committee, which was established to ensure that our chapter stays at the leading edge of professionalism. One of the committee’s primary responsibilities is to run the CPSM study group, which prepares candidates to take and pass the CPSM exam. (The study group is free to all, regardless of SMPS membership status.) I would like to thank the committee members past and present for their hard work and dedication to help me and so many others meet this career milestone!

A note to perennial candidates and near-candidates: this is the perfect time to make the commitment to become certified. Here are few reasons why:

  • Revised and updated study materials, featuring Markendium (AKA the SMPS Body of Knowledge)
  • Markendium Labs, a series of interactive courses that serve as a companion to the books
  • Streamlined application process
  • Online exam offered at a variety of testing centers

This is your year!
