Bentley Arena: The Most Environmentally Sustainable Arena in the Nation

The first LEED-certified building on Bentley’s campus, the 76,000 square-foot mixed-use arena hosts the university’s NCAA Division I hockey team and various other events, such as career fairs, speakers and concerts. The new arena embodies the goals and aspirations of the University to be a national leader in sustainability. The facility’s sustainable features, which include a 500 kW rooftop solar PV array, help cut the anticipated energy use in half!

Learn first- hand what it takes to receive LEED platinum certification from original team members and panelists; Ben Carawan, Project Manager, Suffolk Construction; Maria J. McMorran, AIA, LEED AP BD, Associate, ARC / Architectural Resources Cambridge; Tory Kempf, Account Executive, Energy Efficiency, Eversource Energy; and Amanda King, Executive Director, Office of Sustainability, at Bentley. Moderated by Amanda Lehman Garvey, Associate, Thornton Tomasetti, who was the Sustainability Consultant for the Bentley Arena project (managed the LEED and Energy Modeling effort).
