Bootcamp—Self-Care Reimagined: Adopting Practices that Actually Work

Ask any AEC Marketer what is the most challenging part of the job? THE STRESS. Join SMPS Boston and Lauren Dumont of Kendall Psychological Associates as we learn about self-care: how to engage in self-care, manage stressful situations, and adopt stress mitigation practices that actually work.

In this session you will learn about:

  • Psychoeducation about stress & the stress response
  • Tools to identify stress signals
  • Effective strategies to manage stress through self-care which are based on empirical research and clinical expertise such as cognitive-behavioral theory
  • Recommended resources for ongoing stress management assistance

About the Speaker
Dr. Lauren Dumont is a clinical psychologist based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a regular contributor at the Broad Institute and MIT and is a staff psychologist at Kendall Psychological Associates. Running groups and workshops for stress and emotional management is a specialty area that Dr. Dumont has extensive training and experience. She has presented to a number of different organizations across different sectors including (but are not limited to) the Broad Institute, MIT, New York University, Concentra Healthcare, Edward Jones, Athletic Departments such as at the University of Delaware, a number of Baltimore school systems, and a variety of real-estate companies. She enjoys tailoring workshops to meet the needs of various organizations as she has a keen interest in the synthesis between organizational institutions and the world of psychology. Her unique clinical expertise combined with industrial-organizational experience makes her a great fit for teaching about wellness in corporate settings.
