Videography 101: Creating Engaging Content for Your Brand

With the demand for interactive content, the popularity for video marketing has skyrocketed over the past few years. Alex Enman, Creative Director for Bottle Tree Pictures, will teach the SMPS community how to create and produce their own videos in a full-day seminar. The day will consist of three segments: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production to give a well-rounded education.

Pre-Production will focus on idea generation; how to create plans, shotlists, and storyboards; what is involved from a producer level; and how to interact with outside vendors (if the videography is outsourced).

Production will introduce marketers to different levels of cameras (from smartphones to professional production-quality), lighting and audio basics, organizing footage, and liaising with talent. Attendees will get hands-on experience with three models of professional cameras.

In Post-Production, Alex will lead attendees through the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro, providing an overview of editing footage and best-practices for exporting your video to different platforms. (For a fully hands-on experience, marketers are encouraged to bring their own laptops loaded with Adobe Premiere Pro, though not required.) Lunch will be provided.
