SMPS Boston is built on the efforts of its volunteers. Besides working with other members you’ll have a chance to gain new skills while helping the chapter succeed. Find a committee that peaks your interest and contact the committee Chair for more information.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee recently added a new event to their planning: the Chapter’s winter Holiday Party. The Committee also orchestrates the annual SMPS Boston Awards Gala recognizing the achievements of Marketing Professionals of the Year, New Members of the Year, and winners in various communications categories. Committee members are responsible for event planning, organizing the call for entries, managing the judging process, and developing the final presentation for the Gala held in June.

Outreach aims to build awareness of AEC Marketing as a career path, better establish SMPS as an expert resource, and provide unique opportunities to our members through three core paths:
- Collegiate engagement; offering expert speakers to industry related classes
- Community outreach; being a professional development resource and expanding mentorship opportunities through our sponsorship of Strong Women, Strong Girls
- Peer organization partnerships; developing partnerships for co-creation and/or co-sponsorship of programs that expand member benefits beyond the chapter.
