Business Development Coordinator

Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 400 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York City, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC; Miami, FL; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL, Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC.  BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

 

BR+A is seeking a proactive and outgoing self-starter with a knack for storytelling, making connections, and an eye for visual communications to join the BR+A team as a Business Development Coordinator. This position is for our Boston headquarters. This creative thinker will work collaboratively with others to develop and execute compelling written and visual stories that promote our expertise, conduct market research, and become a firmwide knowledge center of our BR+A’s strengths, projects, pursuits, and differentiators. This candidate will be vital in developing materials that will help the firm win new work. This role will assist in targeted market research, networking activities, involvement in industry associations, affiliated administrative work, content creation, social media ownership, conference tracking, and technical writing. If you are someone who will thrive under frequent deadlines, varied project work, and is passionate about the design + construction industry — this is a position for you.  This role reports to our Director of Business Development and will help plan and execute initiatives to increase brand awareness and promote BR+A’s people, projects, and capabilities across the footprint of our ten national offices.

 

Responsibilities will include working as part of a collaborative team to maximize external visibility through digital storytelling using a variety of tactics, such as social media, website, attendance at events, networking, involvement with industry associations, other key activities that build and maximize the firm’s position in the marketplace.

– Assists Business Development Director with research, planning, and strategy to best position the firm for new work.

– Assist in the creation of PowerPoint pitch decks

– Social media content creation and planning

– Works with Business Development and Marketing team on special projects

– Content creation for project summaries, website updates, and social media

– Manage social media calendars, including researching award deadlines, national conferences, and speaking opportunities

– Analyze and manipulate social media analytics, SEOs, online advertisements, and website data to focus and drive content.

Qualifications:

BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Design, or Business is preferred

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a business development/marketing/communications position within the A/E/C industry.

Highly proficient in InDesign; Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint a plus

Familiarity with Cosential and/or Drupal a plus

Understanding of concepts, practices and procedures in the A/E/C field

Full understanding of a variety of technology platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Canva, software automation, and web design/development a plus

Experience analyzing and interpreting data, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign (or other desktop publishing software)

Graphic design literacy
