Communications and Content Marketing Specialist

SMMA, a design firm based in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a communications professional to join a talented marketing team of storytellers, designers, writers, and doers. We seek a proven collaborator and storyteller with an interest in design, human experiences, and the built environment.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will help build a consistent, true-to-the SMMA brand message that engages our audience and shares our knowledge. You will apply your communications experience to develop, write, and produce content through research, interviews, industry insight, and image curation. Key responsibilities include:

Work closely with SMMA’s design and consulting professionals to help create new digital, print, and environmental content across client sectors
Identify and develop engaging stories in support of the overall brand strategy
Curate and maintain our library of marketing content including project stories, thought leadership, and visual assets
Learn and participate in the application of marketing automation tools and overall digital engagement strategy

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, and/or public relations is strongly preferred
Four plus years of experience, ideally in an A/E/C marketing or communications role, or similar professional services marketing experience preferred
Strong writing voice, ability to write across a spectrum of topics and discipline, and a grounding in the art and science of successful storytelling
Ability to work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment while responding to changing priorities
Outstanding client service skills: responsive, empathetic, detail-oriented
