The Communications Committee manages all of the communication channels for the Chapter. As a part of this, the committee maintains the SMPS Boston website, publishes the weekly E-Flyer, manages the public relations program, sets up online event registrations, and manages social media channels including our blogFacebookInstagramFlickr, and LinkedIn pages.

CPSM Committee

CPSM Committee

The CPSM Committee is focused on supporting our Chapter’s existing Certified Professional Services Marketers (CPSMs) and providing guidance to members who would like to become CPSMs. They plan the annual CPSM study group and CPSM only events.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee encourages chapter enrollment through organizing the membership drive, supporting SMPS recruiting efforts, welcoming new members, and aiding with member retention. The committee plans and coordinates annual events including the Spring New Member event and our Summer Social.

What You'll Learn

  • Strategies to plan and support networking events and member experiences of various sizes (SMPS Boston’s annual summer social, new & prospective member orientations, etc.)
  • How to design and facilitate member programs like Peer-to-Peer Coaching (P2PC) and The Exchange mentorship initiatives
  • Collaboration skills, by working across committees to align membership efforts with chapter goals
  • Practical experience in communication through member engagement and outreach, including meaningful touchpoints and relationship building

The Outreach Committee is responsible for building awareness of SMPS Boston and its members as a leading resource for marketing & business development expertise in the AEC industry by developing strategic relationships with peer industry organizations, advocating for AEC Marketing as a career path, and advancing diversity and inclusion through volunteering efforts.

  • Build strategic relationships with peer industry organizations and community partners, gaining insight into how collaboration expands the visibility and influence of AEC marketing and business development professionals

Special Events Committee

The Special Events Committee recently added a new event to their planning: the Chapter’s Fall Networking event. The Committee also orchestrates the winter Holiday Party, including a clothing drive for Big Brother Big Sister, and the Annual SMPS Boston Awards Gala, which recognizes the achievements of Marketing Professionals of the Year, New Members of the Year, and winners in various marketing communications categories. Committee members are responsible for event planning, organizing the call for entries, managing the judging process, and developing the final presentation for the Gala held in June.
